Kindness • Grit • Responsibility • Self-Control |
From the Principal: My 19-month-old visited CRMS the other morning. He toddled right through the front door and right down the main hallway, clearly ready for school. I scooped him up and carried him down to the fifth grade wing, where we slid ourselves into a morning meeting circle in Mrs. Macintosh's room. The energy was so calm and kind that Jordan just sat in my lap, rapt, for much longer than he ever normally sits still. On our way back upstairs, he spied Mr. Eichenlaub and asked him for a hug. When I tried to take Jordan back, he protested and buried deeper into the hug. Jordan doesn't know Mrs. Macintosh, Mr. Eichenlaub, or almost anybody in the school, but he can sense that it is a safe place filled with kind, loving people. I'm glad to be here, and I'm proud to know that your students are in good hands. Jake |
Pull on up: Just like there's no perfect way to load a plane, there's no perfect way to load your cars. Our current system is that cars pull all the way up around the circle so that we can load multiple cars at a time and minimize the number of cars sitting in line on Knowlton Street. Thanks for cooperating! |

6th Grade "Farms to Forks" |
Sixth graders welcomed a diverse group of food experts as part of their "Story of Our Foods" Language Arts and Family & Consumer Science project-based learning experience, exploring how food connects people, culture, and community. Next, students will write and share their own food stories inspired by meaningful recipes. |
Parents and Students, have you been wondering how to access our eBook and audiobook library from home? Use Sora! |
This past month, fifth-grade students took a walking trip to visit Page Gallery and the Camden Library. At Page Gallery, students explored the exhibit Art & Ekphrastic Poetry, part of the 5th annual collaboration between Page Gallery and The Poets Corner — a partnership that celebrates the connection between visual art and poetry.
Through this experience, students learned to observe art deeply and express their interpretations through creative writing. During their visit, they journaled about the artwork on display, then transformed their reflections into poems back in the classroom. Several students chose to enter their poems into a contest for the chance to be selected — showcasing the power of words and images working together.
In addition, we took a trip to the Camden Library where children’s librarian, Amy Hand, shared her own book log journal. She also shared new releases and spoke about future library opportunities for students.
A huge thank-you to Colin Page and Amy Hand for providing our students with these wonderful opportunities to connect with our community!
