CRMS SPRING THEATER PERFORMANCE "ROTTEN APPLES"

"Rotten Apples was a delightful, wild ride. Each rehearsal was a buffet of hilarious moments, a riot of daring character choices and a staggering example of the students embodying each of our school’s core values of kindness, grit, self-control and responsibility. Every show was a unique combination of scripted and unscripted fun. It was a joy and an honor working with this phenomenal group of young people as they poured themselves into this silly play and I truly hope it was as memorable for them as it was for me." - Director, Michelle Leeman

LINE DANCING

Got your Cupid Shuffle sharpened?  How about your Wobble? Two of our amazing staff, Amanda Strong and Elphie Owen, offer morning line dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:20-8:40 in the gym for student and staff who are interested.  It has been a fun and goofy way to start the day, with a lot of laughs, some fun music and some fly moves.  Both Amanda and Elphie hope to inspire kids to partake in line dancing at dances and other social events.  Line dancing is a low risk way to find your way onto the dance floor, find some rhythm and socialize across generations. Please encourage your students to join in the fun!

6th Grade Invention and Innovation Game PBL

On Wednesday, March 11th, CRMS 6th Graders hosted the fifth grade for our Invention and Innovation Gameboard PBL. Sixth grade students researched a topic related to invention and innovation in Social Studies Class and then applied their learning to build interactive board games. In Language Arts they worked to develop clear instruction manuals. Technology class became a makerspace as students designed cards in Canva, and sculpted game pieces and boards out of cardboard and various other materials. These highly engaging games materials were generously provided through a Youth Arts Grant. All in all, twenty six original, educational, and fun games were designed and played by fifth and sixth grade students. Thank you to all students and staff who came together to make this PBL memorable!

GRADE 7 NEWS

Grade 7 students have Family Consumer Science (FCS) for their CAT class this third trimester and the first big unit is focused on child development and child care. Lessons so far have included activities that explore our five senses as well as interactive stations that challenge students to think about the appropriate age and developmental level for that particular activity.
